Benefits of Using A Coworking Space Over Other Options

Mar 21, 2023 13:42:54 PM by

When you own your own business, you have a few different options. You can work from home, from a cafe or coffee shop, rent an office space, or rent a coworking space. Any smart business owner will examine all of these options before settling on the right one for their situation. It only makes sense, especially in the early stages of a business, when spending money on anything might be a crucial decision. Here are a few options, and why coworking is the better alternative to each one.

Working From Home

Working from home might be the first option you think of. In fact, as a business owner, you’ll likely spend at least some of your time working from home. However, once you start doing business in your dining room or bedroom, you’ll notice the pitfalls right away. For one, it can be incredibly difficult to stay focused on work when you’re at home. Secondly, your home should be a place you go to destress, spend time with your family and enjoy yourself. Spending too much time working from home can turn your home into your office, and no one wants to live at their desk. Keeping work and home separate is important, and can dramatically improve your life overall.

Working From A Cafe

I probably don’t even need to tell you why working at a coffee shop or cafe isn’t ideal, but i’ll list some reasons anyway. First of all, the noise level is almost always high. Unless you’re working out of a French cafe in a black and white silent film, you’re probably going to have to work through the sounds of people yelling their orders, frappes being blended, and coffee beans being ground.

Next, the wifi is usually not equipped to handle the amount of people using it at any given time. On top of that, during busy hours, it can be an impossible task to find a seat, much less one near an outlet.

Renting An Office

For some people, renting an office is just necessary. For example, a large law firm. They need a place to meet with clients on a near daily basis, and offices for the multiple employees. However, if you’re just one person, spending the astronomical Bay Area rent prices really isn’t a smart decision. All that space will probably go unused most of the time, and you’ll end up spending thousands on something you didn’t need in the first place.

Coworking

Coworking solves all of these problems. It gives you a space away from home to focus, and stay motivated. It’s a quiet space by design, besides a few designated networking areas. There are always plenty of seats (and outlets), and you can even reserve a specific desk of your own. And all of these benefits come at a reasonable price, so that you’re not wasting money that could be better spent elsewhere.
